Exotica Coals were the first naturals I bought (with my own money) and I've been using them for a while now.
Once I get the chance I'll be using more Exotica once I find a location near by that sells them.
The main things that I loved about these coals is that they were different from the other Naturals I've seen.
Exotica Gold are long rectangle pieces rather than small squares which means it'll heat a larger area rather than that of another brand.
They were smokeless, didn't ash to dust, cheaper than the other brands I've tried and had no taste added to the shisha tobacco. I have never had an exotica break on me either, so that's an absolute plus.
AND! Who else has an intriguing name like Exotica?
You will get more of my business in the future!

Best Coals I have ever used - Let me start by saying that I smoke hookah pretty much all day when I am home. I use only these coals and I have never had any CO poisoning symptoms. Here is what I like about them. 1. No taste. 2. Longest lasting coals I have ever used. 3. They seem to burn cooler than other coals so it wont burn your shisha as easily. 4. The square shape keeps them on your bowl and off your carpet. What I don't like. 1. Not pre-cut. Now the pre-cut thing is not that big a deal. I simply take a butter knife, cut a groove in it and break off a piece of coal on the corner of my counter. Overall I would rate this an excellent product.

The last coals I will ever buy - I am officially hooked on these coals. I have tried others but nothing seems to be as good as these. Yes you have to size them yourself but it gives you the freedom to make them as big or as small as you need. If you are having trouble breaking them try putting them on the edge of the counter and doing a little karate chop, its pretty effective and you can easily break the coals into thirds, which seems to be just about perfect if you ask me. stop looking for anything else and buy these coals!

Best to Date - On a scale of 1 to 10, with ten being the best, these get a 9 to a 9.5. Get lots of coal for your price, easy to light (I only light 2 sides normally), and easy to break up with the serrated side of tongs. Honestly the only thing that could make these better would be if they came pre-notched like those silver ones. Even still, its nice being able to customize the size of your coal (sometimes I use half, most of the time I use quarters, and sometimes I use thirds, depending on the size of the bowl).

Good Bye Quicklites - Like most people, I started on quick lights. I will never use them again unless absolutely necessary! These sticks are great. I ordered three boxes, and I got many more than I expected. They last for ever. On stick last me about two smoking sessions, and they light quick enough on a gas burner. You do have to cut them, but if you score them with a serated blade they break easily enough. Excellent product, and thanks everyone for the reviews...

Best Coals ever - i've tried every single kind of natural charcoal and quick-lighting charcoal on hookah-shisha.com, and these are, without a single doubt; the best coals on the market today. they light in under 5 minutes, they last for a good 70 minutes, they produce great heat, and they really are easy to break. just take a serrated knife (or a bread knife), and "score" 4 or 5 lines on 1 side of the coal. turn the coal 90degrees, and make 4 more scores. put the whole thing in a rag or paper towel, and break. easy right? also, the ashing is outstanding. it ashes in large thick "flakes", not sandy dusty ash. and the ash only comes off when you drop it on the ashtray. when it's dropped, all the ash just comes right off. you can't go wrong with these. for less then 40 pieces of quick lights, these blow all other coals away. 10/10.

Darn Good Coals - Ever since I started smoking hookah (almost 2 years ago), I used the Al Ajdad Coals. This was mainly due to the fact that that is what the local hookah bar sold. I decided to try these when I ordered my latest round of tobacco, and was very impressed! These coals last much longer, and help for a very nice session! Definitely one of the best!
Chad, AL
The only downfall to these are that you need to score them. I just use a large serrated knife(a bread knife I've found works best)to score 2-3 sides and then snap them apart with my hands. We score half the box at a time so as not to be fooling with it every time. Then just turn on my stove, throw them on and go about getting the rest of the hookah ready. By the time I'm done, the coal is ready to go!

No other coals can match Exoticas. I love these coals. After using these coals, I'll never use quick lights again. These do take more preparation, but they last longer and smoke cleaner than quick lights. As for lighting, I just use my stove top. As for cutting, I just use a butter knife and score all the way around. Then, place the butter knife on the score line and strike it with a little heavier object, just a hand-held can opener for me, and I get a clean break.

Great Coals - Got a box recently and am all-around very impressed. Shape is nice and they burn for a long time. To break them up into smaller pieces I simply score them with a serrated knife and use a hammer and screwdriver to chisel them. They break easily this way, leaving no smaller fragments and minimal dust behind.
Josh, AL
Best Coals I have ever had. This was my first time trying these coals, and I was very impressed. They actually last longer than the other brand we've always used. It's also a plus that they're square. That definitely helps out in case someone bumps the table. Get these!!!
Tom, AL
Get these coals. Best coals. Hands down. Super manageable. Consistent. No foul taste. They get going quick (as far as naturals go). They are rectangular so they sit stable on the bowl. Great product!
Andrew, AL
got these from my buddies who i got in to smoking hookah and i have got to say i will never go back to quick lights, once we got these lit and going they are the best coals iv have ever had, if you are not sure on what to buy i would say get these you get so many and you can cut the coals how you want them, don't have to worrY about the smell of quick lights, but the down side is they do take some time to heat up but if you can wait or just get a camp stove or throw them in the oven you are all good, i would say get these coals good buy for your money
andrew - Hookah-Shisha.com, AL
I am never going back to quicklights unless I have to. These things dont fall apart in 5 minutes like quicklights, last over an hour, and have no taste or smell. The extra time needed to get them ready is well worth it.
Alex - Hookah-Shisha.com, AL
Best Coals. I will never go back to quicklights again. Even though these require a little bit more mess, quicklights have a bad smell and taste and make me feel sick when I use them. These have only the slightest smell [if you've got a sensitive nose like I do] and no taste. They last well and long, too! A little extra preparation is well worth it!
Cryth - Hookah-Shisha.com, AL
No Second Thoughts. I agree with all the reviews here, All praise is less for this highest quality coals that I've ever used. They light pretty comfortably on my electric stove, burn cleanly, odorless and are absolutely tasteless unlike Coco Nara that failed to pleased me enough. Don't give it a second thought, just go for it.

i will never use any other coals. EVER!

These are hands down the best coals ever. A great deal too, you get a kilo for 8 bucks and they last forever.
Spieg - Hookah-Shisha.com, AL
Awesome Coals. This is the best coal I have ever used. They burn for a long time and leave no weird taste or sparks. One stick lasts about one hour. The only down side is you have to cut the stick into smaller pieces and it does take some time to light. I will never use quick lights again these are great!
Mike - Hookah-Shisha.com, AL
Once you get these guys lit, they burn for a long time with very good heat. Quick lights let off the smoke, scatter sparks etc. I've noticed the lemmonwood coals also can shoot sparks, fall apart and off the hookah etc. These coals never spark (compressed coal dust), never break apart suddenly, and have absolutely no taste, smell, or smoke. If you buy cheap shisha, get the quick lights. If you smoke a nice hookah with good shisha, taking the time to light these is well, well, well worth the time sink of cutting/lighting
Michael Welsh - Hookah-Shisha.com, AL
Great Shisha Coals. Exotica coals, like other natural coals take some patience to light, but once you get them burning, they last a very long time. I typically use one of the "fingers" for a smoking session. I score them with a knife and break them apart into 6 evenly sized "cubes." I light 3 of them on the stove and put the other 3 on standby. When the first 3 are starting to lose heat, I light the other 3 and rotate them onto my bowl one at a time. I can easily get an hour or more out of a single "finger" with these coals. Pair these coals with some Romman or Al Fakher shisha and you've got a wonderfully relaxing hour or more of smoke. There is no coal taste or smell.
Brad - Hookah-Shisha.com, AL
No taste or odor. great coals, no worry of them rolling off, must be lit on the stove which is kind of a pain compared to the golden quick lights, but much better smoke quality than the golden. I still keep quick lights on hand, but the exotica coals are used when I want the real hookah experience.

omg. Amazing. ive tried so many types of charcoals and this is just amazing!!!! ive nvr thought a charcoal lyk this existed. IT LASTS FOREVER!!! you dont even need to clean it off for about 30 min and it leaves no taste i love this stuff BUY IT YOU WONT FIND ANYTHING BETTER TRUST ME

As most of the reviews above have stated all ready, the smell and taste that these coals produce is almost if not none. Four 1 inch cubes will last about an hour. Clean-up of ash is easy, it is so fine just take your hookah outside and blow them away. These coals are a little hard to work with. I have been cutting them with my saw blade on my gerber and that cuts right through. If you choose to cut your coal do it outside, cutting them leaves a huge mess. Possibly try the screwdriver way mentioned above, breaking them with your hands, or buy a dremil and cut up a whole box. Lighting these coals is rediculously difficult with just a regular lighter. Having minimal ways to light it here in Iraq, I use my zippo and some zippo lighter fluid. Takes about 2 minutes, a steady hand, and lots of blowing. If you are going to use these coals you probably want to get a butane lighter or one of those electric hot plates. These coals are not that big, only about a square inch. I usually get two coals burning and set them o

Excellent Charcoal. We all know the importance of quality of the charcoal for a great smoke. You won't be disappointed with this charcoal. It has no taste or odor and lasts a good amount of time and doesn't produce a lot of ash.
Alireza Namini - Hookah-Shisha.com, AL
Best Natural Coals. I have been smoking now for over 6 years and these have been the best coals by far. The AL Ajdad coals were great until they started to make their coals round..then I had to buy a small hand saw just to cut them to sit flat on my bowl. NOT a problem with Exotica. Long lasting, and practically no taste!!!
SirSmokesALot - Hookah-Shisha.com, AL
The Best Coals EVER - This simply the best charcoal available. Long-lasting, no flavor, little ash, and easy-to-light on an electric stove. No need to shop around any further. I'm saving my remaining lemon wood coals for the BBQ grill. It is tricky to break up - I use a flat head screwdriver and tap it into the stick with a hammer. This gets them into fairly regularly-sized pieces with minimal waste. You can break up most of the sticks in the box in just a few minutes this way.
Dave - Hookah-Shisha.com, AL
Great CoALS. By far the best coals I have used. I can break them into any size. They light easily on a burner plate (4 min). These are a must for any serious shisha smoker.
Doug H - Hookah-Shisha.com, AL
"if your not smoking with these coals, you shouldn't be smoking". I've been using hookahs for awhile, I've had several pipes, tried several kinds of coal, and probably every brand of tobacco on this website. These coals are fantastic. The quick lite coals are convenient but gross, the chunks of natural coals are better - but these finger coals are worth every penny. Absolutely reccomended. I don't plan on using any other coals from now on.
Gabriel Poland - Hookah-Shisha.com, AL
Greeat coals. I use a small steel hacksaw blade to score the coal then snap them apart. I do a like six sticks at a time then put them in a ziploc bag. As far as how this coal burns 10 out 10. This is the best coals I have ever used. absolutely no after taste, and burn a good long time.
Doug - Hookah-Shisha.com, AL
Awesome Charcoal. I have tried all kinds of charcoal, from the cheap self lighting to the Romann lemon wood. The Exotica square is the way to go. Kind of hard to break up, but they are definitely worth it. They stay lit for along time, and don't make a mess. Overall, they are a must buy, along with the Heba Diffuser and the Ice Chamber. Danny

Wow!!! I am truly impressed!!! I've tried most the coals on the market. From the quick lights to the "natural". They all have some kind of taste and/or odor. These actually are as advertised!! All I smell or taste is my shisha. These are the best on the market!! And to top it off they are cheap too!! A will never purchase another brand of coal!! I give them a 10 out of 10. Great product!! Exotica rules!! A quality product at a cheap price. Keep it up Exotica!!!

a 20yr Sheesha (aka Hookah) snooker and I've tried every coal out there. Exotica square fingers are hands down the best. BUT ... the peaces are a tad too big after breaking down the finger to the set 3 peaces. I would highly recommend keeping the same finger size but making 4 grooves instead of 3 so there will be 4 almost cube shaped peaces.

After getting a bad case of CO poisoning from a generic charcoal, i will only use these charcoals. use lesser charcoals at your own risk. Exotica for life.
